Jamshedpur News: Due to continuous movement of elephants in the forest areas under Chakradharpur Railway Division of South-Eastern Railway, railway operations have been affected. The Railway Administration has decided to cancel five trains passing through nearby railway sections including Tatanagar on 18 December 2025 and 19 December 2025.

Keeping in mind the safety of passengers, the Railway Administration has decided to cancel five trains passing through nearby railway sections including Tatanagar on 18 December 2025 and 19 December 2025. This step has been taken in view of the repeated movement of elephants in Nuagaon-Rourkela, Chakradharpur-Rourkela and Rourkela-Jharsuguda railway sections.
According to the information received from Railways, the first train is 68025/68026 Chakradharpur–Rourkela–Chakradharpur MEMU. This train runs to Rourkela via Chakradharpur and is considered very important for the passengers of Tatanagar Railway Division. Due to its cancellation, daily commuters of Chakradharpur, Tatanagar and surrounding areas will have to face problems.
Second train 68043/68044 Tatanagar–Rourkela–Tatanagar MEMU Is. This train directly connects Tatanagar railway station of Jharkhand to Rourkela of Odisha. Employed people, students and businessmen depend on this train every day. Due to its cancellation on 18th and 19th December, those traveling from Tatanagar to Rourkela will have to look for alternative means.
Third train 18175/18176 Hatia–Jharsuguda–Hatia MEMU has also been canceled for both these days. This train runs from Hatia to Jharsuguda and is an important means of transportation between Jharkhand and Odisha by connecting with Tatanagar rail route. Its cancellation will affect the travel plans of long distance travelers.
Banspani-Badampahad Passenger Train Rehgi Canceled
Apart from this, 68029/68030 Rourkela-Jharsuguda-Rourkela MEMU will also not run on 18th and 19th December. At the same time, 58151/58152 Badampahar – Banspani – Badampahar passenger train will also remain cancelled. This train connects mining areas and rural areas, which will cause inconvenience to passengers coming towards Tatanagar. Railway administration has appealed to the passengers. Be sure to get information about train status before travelling. Railways clearly says that the safety of passengers and protection of wildlife is of paramount importance, hence this temporary arrangement has been implemented till the situation becomes normal.
