Russian President India Visit: Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to be in India on 4-5 December 2025. This will be his first visit to India amid the Russia-Ukraine war. Earlier he had come to Delhi in the year 2021. This visit of Putin is taking place on the occasion of completion of 25 years of strategic partnership between India and Russia. He will participate in the Russia-India summit, which will be the 23rd bilateral summit. The eyes of not only two countries but the entire world are fixed on this meeting.
Vladimir Putin will be on a two-day visit to India but the duration of his stay here is going to be about 30 hours. The Russian President will reach New Delhi on the evening of December 4, where PM Modi will host him. Let us see what will be his complete schedule-
4th November
- Putin will reach India at around 6 pm.
- After arrival, he will have some important meetings, including a private dinner with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other private programs.
5 November
- Formal welcome ceremony in the courtyard of Rashtrapati Bhavan at 9:30 am.
- After this, tribute program went to Rajghat.
- Limited scope talks, then bilateral and delegation level talks at Hyderabad House.
- Lunch with delegations, which may also include some prominent industrialists.
- Announcement of agreements in Hyderabad House.
- Press statement at Hyderabad House.
- India-Russia Business Forum, in which both the leaders can participate.
- State banquet hosted by the President in the evening.
- After the banquet, Putin will depart from India.
Which issues will be discussed?
In this visit of the Russian President, there will be important announcements between the two countries in many areas like defence, energy, trade, technology, space and strategic cooperation. Many important agreements are expected, about which Russian spokesperson Peskov has already given information. This could potentially include a deal on the new S-400 air defense regiment. Russia is offering Su-57 fifth generation fighter aircraft to India, in which technology transfer and joint production is also proposed. The talks between Putin and Modi during this visit of 4-5 December 2025 will not be just a formal meeting but this visit can decide the direction of India-Russia relations. Defense deals, energy partnerships, economic cooperation and consensus on global affairs could be important for both countries.
