After the inauguration of this highway, the journey for passengers going from Delhi-Saharanpur to Dehradun will become easier and more comfortable than before. The elevated highway (NH-709) between Delhi-Saharanpur and Dehradun is ready. Although it has not been formally inaugurated yet, but it has been opened from one side for the convenience of the passengers. It is expected that as soon as the construction work is completely over, PM Modi will inaugurate it and this expressway will be completely opened to the general public.
People’s journey through this highway will not only be comfortable but will also become faster and easier. NH-709, which starts from Akshardham and passes through Saharanpur, has now almost reached its final stage. The speed of 100 kilometers per hour has been fixed on this expressway. Earlier, people going from Saharanpur to Dehradun had to pass through hilly areas and had to face traffic jams several kilometers long every day.
Due to it being a single road, passengers first had to plan their journey on their own. But, now the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and the elevated road from Biharigarh to Dehradun and the flyover built between the river have made this journey very easy. The journey of earlier 1 hour can now be covered in just 10 minutes.
Now, with the construction of this highway, the passengers have got a lot of relief. The journey from Biharigarh to Dehradun can now be completed in just 15 minutes. The construction work of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway started in October 2021. It was targeted to be completed by 2024, but it was delayed due to various reasons. Now it is expected to be inaugurated between January-February.
