But farmers are clicking on it in the hope that they will get money and they are losing money.
Some farmers are getting another kind of message. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given Rs 2,000 to PM Kisan. Click on this link and take it,” criminals are sending the link in WhatsApp groups. If the farmers hastily click on that link, then only God knows what will happen to the money deposited in their accounts. The money deposited in the account may also disappear. Because what they are sending is not an ordinary link. This is an “.apk” file. If that link is clicked, a malware software is downloaded and installed on the mobile. Subsequently, this may cause money to disappear from the farmer’s bank account.
How this malware works, after entering the mobile, it steals all the photos, videos, passwords, other people’s mobile numbers, call lists and other information saved in the mobile. It reaches the hacker through the internet. With this the hacker knows the farmer’s name, mobile number, Aadhaar number, bank account information and password. The hacker immediately logs into the bank account and transfers the money in the account to his own account. In this way the account becomes empty. But the farmer has no information about this.

He has warned that if the link is clicked on WhatsApp, then all the information present on WhatsApp will go to the hacker and thus WhatsApp will come under the control of the hacker. Farmers may have doubts here. If you want to deposit money in your account, an OTP will come on your mobile. Hackers are very clever. They first change the mobile number in the bank account. Then withdraw the money. Then OTP will come on their mobile number. Therefore farmers should be careful.
If a farmer clicks on such a link… then you need to know how to stop him. If WhatsApp is not working properly… then you should uninstall it immediately. You should remove WhatsApp from your mobile. Then restart the mobile. Then reinstall WhatsApp. Also… if the mobile is overheating or not… if it is not working properly… it has become stubborn… then it means… some .apk file… might have been installed in the mobile. Then there will be a virus scanning app in the mobile. In most mobiles, this is present at the time of purchasing the mobile. By using this you can find out whether it is malware software or not.
If you know there is malware, you should call the bank immediately and explain what has happened. In this way, there is a chance to prevent the money deposited in the account from being lost. Apart from this, people who have been cheated can call 1930 without any delay or lodge a complaint on cybercrime.gov.in website. With both these methods, money loss can be avoided. However, the sooner you do this, the greater your chances of getting your money back. The longer the delay, the more difficult it will be to get the money back. Usually, if you file a complaint within the first hour of the fraud, you can get back the money deposited in your account even if it goes missing.
