Nutritionist Khushi Chhabra has suggested a solution to this problem. She has shared a special winter special paratha recipe, which is made with jowar flour, fenugreek and radish. This paratha is not only gluten-free, but also rich in fiber and complex carbohydrates. These slowly digested carbs keep blood sugar balanced and control appetite, making weight management easier. The ingredients used in this paratha are completely suitable for winters. Jowar is a good source of complex carbs, fenugreek helps balance blood sugar and radish is rich in detoxifying properties. This recipe is not only healthy but also tastes amazing. You can make your winter breakfast nutritious and tasty by serving this paratha with curd or mint chutney.
Ingredients (for 3 parathas)
-1 cup jowar flour
-½ cup grated radish
-¼ cup chopped fresh fenugreek
-½ teaspoon celery
-½ teaspoon cumin
-½ teaspoon red chili powder
-Salt as per taste
-1 teaspoon ginger-green chilli paste (optional)
-1 tablespoon curd or lukewarm water (for kneading the dough)
-Ghee or cold pressed oil (for frying)
Method of preparation
1. Grate radish and squeeze out excess water.
2. In a large bowl, add jowar flour, fenugreek, radish, celery, cumin, red chilli and salt.
3. Mix radish water and curd or lukewarm water and knead a soft dough.
4. Take portions of the dough, give them a round shape and roll them out lightly.
5. Apply ghee or oil on a hot pan and cook the parathas until they become golden brown on both sides.
6. Serve hot parathas with curd or mint chutney.
