Not just Samba, tough attack on terrorists from Udhampur to Kashmir
The presence of suspects in Samba has increased the concern of security agencies, because this incident has happened at a time when both terrorist activities and action of security forces against them are intensified in Jammu and Kashmir. Continuous operations are being conducted to destroy the terrorist network in the valley.
Bloody encounter and martyrdom in Udhampur: Just before the Samba alert, there was a fierce exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in Majalta tehsil of Udhampur district. SOG had conducted the operation on the information about the hiding of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in Sohan village. During this, constable Amjad Pathan was martyred, while there is also news of a terrorist being injured in the initial firing.
14 Attack on SIM cards and ‘Digital Jihad’: Along with the ground fight, the police has also cracked down on ‘keyboard warriors’. Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) has busted a big terrorist recruitment network running under the guise of social activism. Raids were conducted at 12 locations in 7 districts including Srinagar, Baramulla, Pulwama. Police have detained 12 suspects and seized 10 mobiles, 1 laptop and 14 SIM cards from them.
The entire ‘ecosystem’ on target: The security forces are now eliminating not just the gunmen but their entire support system. Overground workers (OGW), those spreading online propaganda and those doing terror funding through Hawala are now the direct target. The objective is clear – to break every link that helps terrorists.
