This additional facility is expected to provide relief to thousands of passengers. MuzaffarpurIn view of the heavy rush of passengers during festivals, East Central Railway, Samastipur Division has decided to run an unreserved festival special train between Muzaffarpur to New Jalpaiguri. This step will prove to be a great convenience for those passengers who face difficulties due to crowding and long waiting lists in regular trains.
According to Samastipur Railway Division, train number 05591 (Muzaffarpur–New Jalpaiguri unreserved special train) will be operated on 11 November 2025 (Tuesday). This train will depart from Muzaffarpur Junction at 18:00 pm and reach New Jalpaiguri (NJP) via Hasanpur Road (HPO) and Khagaria (KGG). The route of the train has been decided in such a way that the passengers going to Central Bihar, Seemanchal and North Bengal can get direct, fast and safe travel facility.
Let us tell you that before this, Avadh Assam runs daily regularly from Muzaffarpur to New Jalpaiguri, apart from this, three weekly trains are running – New Jalpaiguri Chandigarh, New Delhi Dibrugarh, Karmabhoomi Amritsar New Jalpaiguri. But in view of the crowd, special trains are being operated by the Railways. It is expected that this will reduce the pressure on the extra crowd.
Passengers get relief from operation of special trains
Railway administration said that the operation of this train will not only provide additional travel facilities but will also help a lot in crowd management. During the festival season, there is movement of a large number of passengers from Bihar to the North-East, due to which there is heavy crowd in regular trains. In such a situation, operation of the special train will prove to be a boon for the passengers.

Samastipur Division has appealed to the passengers to follow the railway safety rules during the journey and travel only with proper tickets. Despite being an unreserved special train, it is mandatory to take ticket, so that the travel system remains smooth and there is no inconvenience.
