IMD Weather Today: The weather patterns are constantly changing in different parts of India. The intensity of the cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal has reduced. It has now turned into low pressure. Due to this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Puducherry. However, its effect will reduce further in the coming few days. On the other hand, the temperature is continuously falling in the plains of North and Eastern India. Due to this, the effect of cold is being seen in the states from Punjab to Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand and North-East. Along with cold wave, fog has also started falling in some states. Amidst all this, there is a relief news for the people of Delhi-NCR. Due to increase in wind speed, air pollution has reduced significantly, yet the level of AQI (Air Quality Index) remains above 300. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that Western Disturbance is active in the Himalayan regions. There is a possibility of its impact in the high mountainous areas, but the chances of its impact in the plains are very less.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding heavy rain, cold wave and dense fog in many parts for the coming days. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert. There is a possibility of cold wave in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on 4th and 5th December. The effect of cold will be more in North Rajasthan from 4th to 6th December. Cold wave conditions may occur in Jharkhand on 6th and 7th December. According to meteorologists, there will be no significant change in the minimum temperature in North-West India for the next 5 days. Only in Uttar Pradesh the temperature may fall by 2–3 degrees in the next 3 days. The temperature in Central and Eastern India will also remain stable in the next 3 days after falling by 2–3 degrees. There will be no change in Northeast India for the next 2 days, but the temperature may drop by 2–3 degrees in the next 3 days.

Where will the dense fog fall, where will the cold wave blow?
IMD has predicted dense fog and cold wave in many states in the coming days. There will be cold wave conditions in different areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, North Rajasthan and Jharkhand. Dense fog may occur in Assam, Meghalaya, Odisha on the morning of 4 and 5 December. The effect of fog can be seen in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Himachal Pradesh between 4th to 6th December. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to be careful during cold and fog and stay safe in rainy areas.
How will the weather be in the next 24 hours?
During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers were observed over coastal Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh, accompanied by heavy rain at some places. Light to moderate rain occurred in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Light rain occurred in coastal Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka. Moderate to light fog prevailed in Northeast India. There was light fog in parts of Northeast India, Bihar, Odisha, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Western Madhya Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur at some places over South Coast Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu. Light to moderate rain may occur in Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. There is a possibility of light rain in South Lakshadweep and South Interior Karnataka.
