Now an app (cough against TB) has been launched to eradicate TB disease, which will strengthen the TB-free India campaign of the Government of India. Actually, with the help of this app, AI will now be able to identify TB patients by analyzing the sound of cough and patients will also get benefit with the help of the app.

Let us tell you that successful training on Cough Against TB App was done in Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital, the objective of which is to make the early detection of TB more fast and effective through technology. Regarding this, Tumul Rai, expert of Wadhwani AI team, has also given detailed information about the technical functioning of the app to the health workers of the civil hospital.
how does it work
Giving more information about this to Local 18, Tumul Rai, expert of Wadhwani AI team, said that this app analyzes the sound of cough with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and identifies the specific sounds that can potentially be associated with TB. He said the app records cough from the mobile phone’s microphone and the AI algorithm analyzes the audio signal to help identify presumptive TB patients.
He said that this app will help health workers working in the field to immediately identify suspected TB patients and refer them for further investigation. Dr. Pooja Pantal, PMO of Civil Hospital, said that this app is an important step in strengthening the TB-free India campaign. He expressed hope that this technology will play an important role in the prevention and control of TB at the field level.
Health workers will be given special training
Dr. Neenu Gandhi said that today a special kind of training has been given to the health workers in the civil hospital, in which they are being told about TB screening. He said that most people do not give their sputum samples for TB testing. In such a situation, now a health department has come up with Cough Against TB app, in which the disease related to TB can be detected by analyzing the sound of the patient’s cough.
He told that today this new technology is being used during this training, so that in the coming time, health related facilities will be provided to the people with the help of this app. He told that after some time, TB patients will be able to check their cough with this app, which will save their time, because the patient has to come to the hospital and give his sputum samples, but with this app, he will be able to know about the disease on TV while sitting at home.
