Understanding the demand and profit, he returned to Kannauj and started cultivating it in a small field. Farming, which started at a cost of just Rs 30 to 40 thousand, soon brought him a profit of lakhs of rupees.
Vijender Singh Tomar says that the specialty of gladiolus farming is that the cost is less and the profit is many times higher. This flower is ready in 3 to 4 months depending on the season and with proper care, farmers can get better income from it with minimum risk. There is a huge demand for it not only in Kannauj but in the entire country. This is the reason why the Tomar family supplies flowers on a large scale every year to Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, Rajasthan and the states of South India.
