Satara village is a very beautiful village in this small area of Maharashtra situated near Tadoba National Park. Features like CCTV-based monitoring, solar street lights, RO water ATM, waste management, rain water conservation, private toilets in every house, and separate community spaces for children and elderly in the village are reminiscent of a modern city.
Those who say that there is filth in villages, they should come and see Satara village situated near Tadoba National Park in Maharashtra. The level of cleanliness here is so high that people jokingly say, “Even cow dung doesn’t smell here, even your house will not be this clean.” Recently, this village suddenly came into the spotlight through Instagram Reels, and within no time it attracted the attention of the whole of India. Interestingly, Satara started being compared with the villages of Meghalaya which are counted among the cleanest villages of India. But Satara proved with its system and discipline that it is also one of the cleanest and sustainable villages in the country. Even abusing here attracts a fine of Rs 500.
The cleanliness of Satara is not a miracle of any government scheme, but is the result of collective efforts of the villagers. CCTV cameras are installed on every road of the entire village so that no one can take the risk of spreading filth. Open drains, garbage heaps or smelly streets are not visible anywhere in the village. Even the animal sheds are kept absolutely clean and without any smell. There is RO Water ATM card system in the village, through which people can get pure water. There is a metered tap in every house, so that people use water as per their requirement and pay for it. Every road in the village is illuminated with solar street lights, which automatically turn on at night. This much modern infrastructure is enough to defeat any city.
