New Delhi. Social media platform X has introduced a new feature that shows the most liked tweets in the last month in a country. This feature is available to users under the ‘Inspiration’ tab, where they can see the posts with the most likes, replies and quotes based on the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. A figure has emerged from this that out of the top 10 most liked tweets of India in the last 30 days, 8 are of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. No other politician could make it to the top 10.
This feature has been recently launched by X, which helps in better understanding user engagement on the platform. Nikita Bier, product head of X, has called this an important step in ensuring the integrity of Global Town Square. In a country with a huge user base like India, this facility is proving useful in understanding the direction at the political and social level. According to the data, X has about 27 million monthly active users in India, making it the second largest market in Asia after Japan.
PM Modi’s tweets are everywhere
PM Modi’s top tweets are mainly related to the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India on 4-5 December 2025. The top tweet, in which PM Modi has mentioned about gifting a copy of the Bhagavad Gita in Russian to Putin, has received more than 67 lakh likes. The tweet read, “Presented a copy of Gita in Russian language to President Putin. The teachings of Gita inspire crores of people around the world.” This post not only highlighted the strength of India-Russia relations, but also became a symbol of cultural diplomacy.
Similarly, the tweet welcoming Putin at the third place is with 2.14 lakh likes, while the fourth tweet focusing on strengthening India-Russia relations got 2.18 lakh likes. The post welcoming Putin on Lok Kalyan Marg is included in the sixth place with 1.79 lakh likes. All these tweets are based on the incidents during Putin’s visit.
No opposition leader’s name is in this list
The important thing is that the name of any leader of opposition parties is not in this list. Neither the tweets of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, nor Rahul Gandhi nor other prominent politicians made that much impact. BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari, reacting to the statement, said that it is not popularity, but public relations, trust and unmatched leadership. PM Modi rules India’s digital communication.
PM Modi’s strong hold on social media is nothing new. As of 2025, he has 1.09 crore followers on his X account, making him the second most followed world leader in the world. He is in second place after former US President Donald Trump. Not only on X, he also has 4.2 crore followers on Facebook, where he regularly shares live sessions and photos.
