Motihari: The effect of police raid was seen in Motihari, Bihar. Notorious Naxalite Sanjay Singh, who was absconding for 12 years, finally surrendered before the law. Sanjay Singh, a resident of Shyampur Bhatahan in Sheohar district, himself reached the court on Thursday and surrendered. He took this decision when the police, under the leadership of Pachpakdi police station incharge Pooja Kumari, was continuously raiding in search of him.
On the instructions of SP Swarn Prabhat and Sikarhana DSP Uday Shankar, a special campaign is being conducted to eliminate the Naxalite network, under the pressure of which Sanjay Singh approached the court. Sanjay Singh was accused of being involved in Naxalite activities for a long time, levy collection, threats and involvement in many criminal incidents. According to the police, he was hiding in the border areas of several states, but in recent times the increasing raids and continuous raids had made it difficult for him to escape.
Naxalites are surrendering in many areas
It is noteworthy that in the last few months, the effect of the special campaign of police-administration is visible in the entire Seemanchal and Tirhut range including the district. Even before this, many members associated with the Naxalite organization have surrendered. Police had recently arrested several associates by conducting operations at Naxalite hideouts in Motihari, Sitamarhi, Shivhar and West Champaran areas. Some hardcore Naxalites have also expressed their desire to surrender and return to the mainstream.
Action continues against Naxalites
Officials say that this process of surrender will continue in future also. Due to police pressure, continuous campaign and strict legal action, many absconding Naxalites are feeling unsafe and are taking refuge in the court. The administration is ready to give such people a chance to return to the mainstream, but no person involved in crime and violence will be spared.
