New Delhi. An important project of Delhi Metro Phase-IV has got a big relief. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the allocation of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) land for the Rithala-Narela-Kundli Metro Corridor. This decision will give impetus to the long pending project and strengthen the connectivity from North-West Delhi to Haryana.
Obstacles in land allotment removed
After LG’s approval, DMRC will be able to get the required land to build a viaduct from Rithala to Rohini Sector-25. Under the scheme, 50 square meter land will be given on permanent lease for 99 years and 1,286 square meter land will be given temporarily for four years. In lieu of this allocation, a total of Rs 75,50,353 will be paid by DMRC to Delhi Jal Board. The pace of construction work is expected to increase after getting the land.
Better access from 21 elevated stations
A total of 21 elevated stations are proposed in the Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor, which will directly connect areas like Rohini, Bawana and Narela to the metro network. This will save time for daily commuters and reduce road traffic pressure. This corridor will also be connected to the Red Line, which will promote seamless and easy travel in NCR.
Narela’s development will get a new direction
This project will help in developing Narela as an education, housing and sports hub. Investment and employment opportunities will increase due to better public transport. Also, by reducing dependence on private vehicles, traffic jams and pollution are expected to reduce. Ease of transportation between Delhi and Haryana will also give impetus to regional development. This important step of Metro Phase-IV not only connects the incomplete links, but also opens the way for the overall development of North-West Delhi and surrounding areas. After the approval, the construction work is likely to speed up, due to which common passengers will get relief soon.
