MCD By Election Result Live: The counting of votes for the by-elections held in 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will take place on Wednesday, December 3, under tight security. The future of 51 candidates will be decided in this counting of votes. The fate of these candidates was sealed in EVMs on 30th November. An official of the State Election Commission (SEC) said that all preparations for the counting of votes for the by-election have been completed. The State Election Commission has created 10 centers for counting votes. The results are likely to be declared by afternoon. SEC said in a statement that all counting centers have been equipped with appropriate infrastructure, security and monitoring mechanisms to ensure complete preparedness. The Commission said that the Commission has worked closely with District Election Officers (DEOs), General Observers, Returning Officers (ROs) and security agencies to ensure that the counting system adheres to the highest standards of transparency and efficiency.
SEC said that a total of 10 polling stations have been set up in districts including Kanjhawala, Pitampura, Bharat Nagar, Civil Lines, Rouse Avenue, Dwarka, Najafgarh, Gol Market, Pushp Vihar and Mandawali. Each center will count specific wards, which will have strong room facilities and safe entry-exit protocols. These by-elections are being seen by analysts as a referendum on the performance of the BJP Delhi government led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Due to this, the position of the party in the Municipal Corporation House may also change significantly. Municipal corporation elections were held on 250 seats in December 2022. After several changes in the party’s position, BJP currently has 115 councilors in the MCD House. BJP is aiming to win 12-0 in the by-elections, so that it can reach the absolute majority figure of 125 in the 250-member Municipal Corporation House.
The fate of the candidates of these 12 wards will be decided today

These results are important for AAP also
The good performance of BJP is expected to increase the stature of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. He is expected to present a positive public report card for e-bus, health and insurance welfare schemes and arrangements for Chhath fasts. The results of the by-elections are also very important for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), because it currently has 99 councilors and it wants to regain the lost ground in city politics after handing over power to the BJP in the assembly elections held in February this year.
