jamshedpurAn important information has been issued by South-Eastern Railway for the passengers. Many major trains passing through Tatanagar station will remain canceled on various dates in the months of November and December. Railways said that this decision has been taken for operational reasons, track repair work and traffic management.
According to railway sources, a total of 15 trains will be completely cancelled, while short termination and short origination of six trains will be done. During this period, passengers have been appealed to check the train number and time table before their journey.
These trains will remain canceled
The first train 13288/13287 South Bihar Express (Ara–Durg–Ara) has been canceled on 14, 21, 28 November and 5, 12, 19 and 26 December. This train passes through Tatanagar and is very popular among the passengers.
Similarly, 18109/18110 Tatanagar–Itwari–Tatanagar Express will also remain canceled on 23rd, 27th and 30th November apart from some dates of December. This train is considered an important link between Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
68043/68044 Tata–Rajkola–Tata Memu Passenger has been canceled on 23, 27 and 30 November, which may cause inconvenience to passengers at Tatanagar and nearby small stations.
Apart from this, 18125/18126 Rourkela–Puri–Rourkela Express has been canceled on 11, 15, 18, 25 November and 2, 6, 9 and 13 December. This train goes to Puri via Tatanagar and is a major mode of transport for travelers from Odisha.
68029/68030 Hatia–Rourkela–Hatia MEMU Passenger will remain closed from 16 to 30 November, while 58659/58660 Hatia–Chakradharpur–Hatia Passenger has been canceled on 21, 24, 28 November and 1, 4, 7, 11, 14 and 18 December.
Provision of short termination and short origination
Railways has also said that some trains will be operated partially. Trains like 18107/18108 Rourkela–Jayanagar Express and 22861/22862 Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express will now operate for limited distances. Some trains will run till Tatanagar only or start their journey from there.

Railways has appealed to the passengers of Tatanagar, Hatia, Bokaro, Jharsuguda and Chakradharpur stations to check the train status on the IRCTC website or National Train Inquiry System (NTES) before their journey. Railways has said that this decision is temporary and there is a plan to normalize all services by December 30.
Steps taken for long term improvement
According to railway officials, this step has been taken with the aim of improving the safety of passengers and operation of trains. Services will be normalized by the end of December after completion of track repairs, signaling upgradation and maintenance work.
