As soon as the winter season starts, the markets are filled with fresh green vegetables. Vegetables of this season like fenugreek, mustard and spinach not only enhance the taste of food but also prove to be a boon for health. While most people like to make fenugreek bhaji or fenugreek-potato curry, if you are looking for something different and quick to prepare, then raw fenugreek parathas are a great option. These parathas are prepared in just 10 minutes and their taste is so amazing that guests will not be able to stop themselves from praising your cooking.
Ingredients for 2 people… Wheat flour 2 cups, fresh fenugreek chopped, ginger-garlic paste 1 spoon, green chilli finely chopped, red chilli powder half spoon, turmeric powder a pinch, celery half spoon, salt as per taste, curd to keep the paratha soft, oil or ghee for baking.
Method of preparation
Wash fenugreek leaves thoroughly and chop them finely. Keep in mind that water should not remain in the leaves, otherwise the dough will become wet. Take flour in a big bowl. Now add chopped fenugreek, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, red chilli powder, turmeric, celery, salt and curd. Now mix all the things and knead a soft dough by adding water little by little. The dough should neither be too hard nor too soft. Keep the kneaded dough covered for 5 minutes. With this, the flavor of fenugreek will get absorbed well in the flour.
Roll out the paratha and bake it
Make small balls from the dough and give each ball a round shape with the help of a rolling pin. Place the paratha on a hot pan, cook it on one side and then turn it. Apply a little oil or ghee on both sides and fry until golden and crisp. Serve hot Methi Paratha with curd, pickle or vegetable greens of your choice and eat.
treasure of health
Fenugreek is rich in iron, fiber and vitamins. It keeps digestion healthy and helps in protecting from cold and cough. Must try this combination of taste and health in winter.
