Step by Step Process: From UMANG App (Easiest Way)
UMANG app is the hub of government services—one app, many things. Follow:
1. App Download and Login:
– Install UMANG app.
– Open and click on ‘Login’. Verify OTP with mobile number. If new user, register.
2. Search Service:
– Type ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ or ‘EPFO Life Certificate’ in the search bar on the home screen.
– Select ‘Digital Life Certificate’ in the ‘EPFO’ section.
3. Fill the details:
– Enter UAN number.
– Enter Pension Account Number (PPON).
– Verify Aadhaar number. OTP will come – enter.
4. Select Verification:
– Two options:
– Biometric (Fingerprint/Iris): Visit the nearest Aadhaar centre.
– Video verification: Turn on the camera in the app. Confirm with face scan or live video. (from home!)
– Book service, select date and time slot.
5. Confirmation and Download:
– Click on submit. Confirmation will come through SMS/email.
– Certificate will be generated, download it or save it on email.
– This will be sent automatically to EPFO, pension will continue.
Alternative method: From EPFO portal
If you don’t like the app:
1. Go to EPFO website (epfindia.gov.in).
2. Select ‘Online Services’ > ‘For Employees’ > ‘Digital Life Certificate’.
3. Login with UAN (OTP verification).
4. Fill the details, do verification.
5. Submit – PDF will be downloaded.
What problems can arise and need to be prepared for?
– No UAN/Aadhar link? Use ‘Link Aadhaar’ option from EPFO app. This will be done in just 10 minutes.
– If OTP does not come? Check network or call 1947.
– Service not being booked? Avoid peak time, try 9-11 am.
