New Delhi. India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy has announced that its family scooter Rizta has crossed the 2 lakh sales mark. This achievement comes just six months after Ather completed the sale of its first one lakh Riza units in May 2025. The company has achieved this milestone in just 20 months of the scooter being launched in the market, which is a fantastic figure in itself.
Launching in April 2024
Rizta was introduced in April 2024, which has helped expand Ather’s reach to new markets outside South India. According to the brand, new options like Terracotta Red and the introduction of the Rizzta S variant with a 3.7 kWh battery have also contributed significantly to sales. The market expansion of Ather is mainly due to the discount, which has helped in increasing its demand. Now Rizta accounts for more than 70 percent of Ather’s total sales. Additionally, Ather has almost doubled its market share in key states like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, from 7 percent in Q1 FY26 to 14 percent in Q3 FY26 – as of last month.
Sales increased in Punjab also
Its sales have increased from 8 percent to 15 percent in Punjab and from 4 percent to 10 percent in Uttar Pradesh. It is noteworthy that Ather has recently crossed the major retail milestone of selling more than 5 lakh electric scooters in India, according to Vahan and Telangana Vehicle Online Sales data.
Fast Growing Experience Center
Additionally, since the launch of Rizta in April 2024, Ather has rapidly expanded its presence by adding experience centers across the country, reaching 524 outlets by September 30, 2025. Currently, the Ather Rizta is available in two variants – Rizta S and Rizta Z – which have an IDC range of 123 km and 159 km respectively.
56 liters of storage space
It has a large seat and 56 liters of storage space, which includes 34 liters of under-seat capacity and 22 liters of optional trunk accessory. It also has a floorboard, which gives good leg space to the rider. Additionally, the Rizta comes with a host of safety features like skid control, and features already available in Ather’s 450 series scooters like Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Theft and Tow Alerts and Ping My Scooter (available with AtherStack Pro).
Entry into international market also
Apart from this, at Ather Community Day 2025, the company also announced a major upgrade of touchscreen functionality for Rizzta Z. Earlier this year, Rizta was also introduced in Ather’s international markets – Nepal and Sri Lanka. Commenting on the new milestone, Ravneet Singh Phokela, CBO, Ather Energy, said, “Rijta has been performing brilliantly since inception, which has expanded our addressable market and enabled us to rapidly expand our distribution in Middle and North India. Going forward, our focus will be on further strengthening the product reach, deepening distribution and building on this strong foundation.”
