Bastar Olympics For Surrendered Maoist: Bastar Olympics is being organized in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. Surrendered Maoists of Bastar and family members suffering from Maoists are taking part in this Olympics. Members of the Surrender Maoist organization are participating in different sports, racing for medals in games like volleyball and relay. Somdu Podiyam of Bastar, who was once a Maoist roaming in the forests carrying modern weapons like SLR, will now play volleyball. Somdu Podiyam was a Maoist with a reward of eight lakhs, who has joined the mainstream and has come to participate in the Bastar Olympics in the Bastar district team.
Maoist organizations joined in 2009
Somdu Podiyam told that I joined the Maoist organization in 2009. Surrendered October 2025. Was a member of DVCM in Maoist organization. There was an honor worth eight lakhs on me. I will participate in volleyball game in Bastar Olympics. I used to keep SlR weapon. When I was in the Maoist organization, I used to play during practice at the training ground and did not get any free time. There they also played volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, running, high jump and long jump.
Full rehabilitation amount not received
