Rajnath Singh Jairam Ramesh: Jairam Ramesh gave a copy of Maniben Patel’s diary to Rajnath Singh and said that there is no mention of the construction of Babri Masjid by Nehru in it, Singh said that he did not know Gujarati.
New Delhi. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh on Thursday handed over a copy of Vallabhbhai Patel’s daughter Maniben Patel’s diary entries written in Gujarati to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and told him that there was no mention of her claim that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru wanted to build the Babri Masjid using government funds. Ramesh met the Defense Minister as soon as he got down from his car outside the Makar Gate of Parliament.
Ramesh told Singh that he had brought Maniben Patel’s diary entries in Gujarati especially for him, to which the senior BJP leader said, “We have it in English.” The papers containing the original diary entries in Gujarati have been published in a book. Handing over its Hindi translation to him, Ramesh asked him to read it. Singh replied that he did not know Gujarati.
This morning Jairam Ramesh ji gave some pages of the diary of Sardar Patel’s daughter Maniben Patel to Rajnath Singh ji and said
“Read these pages of Maniben Patel’s diary in Gujarati, what you said about Nehru ji is not there in it.”
Laughing, Rajnath Singh said, “I don’t know Gujarati”… pic.twitter.com/Z24VoRZZWs
