If you are going to buy a room heater that does not have a room heater in your house or it is damaged, then keep a few things in mind. This is because buying a poor quality, local heater can be dangerous. For this, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has also given some warnings. Know what things should be kept in mind while buying a heater.
Keep these things in mind while buying a heater
-You must have often heard in the news that a house caught fire due to heater short circuit. Children sometimes get electrocuted. In such a situation, you should buy a heater of good quality, which will keep the house properly warm and accidents will not occur.
Before buying a heater, you must check the safety features. According to Bureau of Indian Standards, if you are buying a heater then definitely check the ISI mark. With this you can be confirmed that this heater is safe in every way. In this, the risk of electric shock, short circuit, damage to internal parts and fire is reduced to a great extent.
– You should not buy such heaters which remain on continuously. If you sleep with the heater on at night, it can also be risky. In this way, the risk of fire in blankets, sheets and curtains increases many times. In such a situation, buy only that heater which switches off automatically. If it gets too hot, the heater will automatically switch off, then when the temperature cools down, it will switch on. In this way the balance will be maintained. Electricity bill will also reduce. Buy a heater only keeping in mind the automatic cut-off protection feature.
-Some people keep a big heater in a small room. If the room is small then buy a small heater also. Due to its size, many times the plug does not enter the switch board. The power input and watts of the heater should also be checked. If you sleep in a small room with a wrong watt heater on, the electricity consumption will increase due to overheating. Also fire may occur.
-Do not buy local heater even by mistake. The quality of electrical goods should never be compromised. According to BIS, always buy heaters from branded, well-known companies. A good quality ISI marked heater has proper earthing. The quality of insulation is good.
