Milk Purity Test at Home: We all use milk daily, but the increasing problem of adulteration in it has become a cause for concern. To avoid harm to health, it is very important to know the purity of milk. Ram Sharan Verma, in-charge of Parag Dairy, Shivgarh, Rae Bareli, says that the purity of milk can be easily identified by colour, smell, foam and smoothness. Real milk remains white even when boiled or kept in the refrigerator, whereas when adulterated, its color quickly turns yellow. The smell of pure milk is slightly sweet, whereas milk mixed with detergent has a strong soap-like smell. If a lot of foam is formed when milk is shaken in the glass and remains for a long time, then it is a sign of adulteration. If you feel detergent-like grease when you rub milk on your finger, then understand that the milk is fake. If a drop of water forms a thick white line when dropped on a black surface, then the milk is considered pure. Transparent line is a sign of adulteration.
