SBI Big Update: The country’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI) has given important news for its bank account holders. Actually, SBI Bank is going to stop a big service. Due to this many users will face difficulty in sending money. From December 1, SBI Bank customers will not get the benefit of using mCASH feature. Giving information on this, State Bank has said that after November 30, 2025, the facility to send and claim mCASH will not be available on OnlineSBI and YONO Lite. After this decision of the bank, all the users who used to use this service will not be able to use it.
SBI mCash service is an easy way for the customers to send money through which the user can do the transaction only with the help of mobile number or email ID. This service is designed for small transactions and immediate payments. Now this feature will not be available to customers from December 1.
Why was mCash service stopped?
The bank says that mCash was running on old technology, which was neither so fast nor completely secure in today’s time. Therefore, by saying goodbye to it, SBI wants to make digital payments stronger, faster and reliable. That means, if you still use mCash, then adopt UPI quickly, otherwise you may have to repent after 30th November.
SBI has decided to completely discontinue its old mCash service from December 1, 2025. Now after this date you will not be able to transfer any money from MKash. The bank has given clear information on its website that customers should now use new and very secure methods like UPI, IMPS, NEFT and RTGS.
What should users do if mCash is closed?
You will not face any problem due to closure of mCash. SBI people have made complete arrangements for this. Now you can easily send money through BHIM SBI Pay i.e. UPI app, IMPS or other digital methods. These methods are not only fast but also super safe. Especially the BHIM SBI Pay app is such that the work is done in two minutes, you can send or order money to anyone without going to the bank. Millions of people are already using it and are happy. It is also very easy to send money through BHIM SBI Pay. For this, first open the app, login and press the ‘Pay’ button. Then three options will come – VPA (like name@SBI), account number plus IFSC or scan the QR code. You can select whatever convenience suits you. You can select your debit account and press the tick mark, then as soon as you enter the UPI PIN, the money will be transferred to the other person’s account. Now, to stop this, efforts are being made to promote new methods like UPI, IMPS, NEFT and RTGS.
How does mCASH work first?
If you are a customer of SBI and use internet banking, then you have to send money to someone, but if you do not want to bother about registering the other person as a beneficiary, then enter his mobile number or email ID, write the amount and the money will go directly into mCASH.
Now, if the person receiving the money has an account with any bank, it will be fine. He will receive an SMS or email, which will contain a secure link and an 8 digit passcode. If you open your account by downloading State Bank’s mCASH app or by clicking on the online SBI link, the money will be credited to your account as soon as you enter the passcode. You could use it without registration and without waiting.
