Palamau As the New Year approaches in Jharkhand, the number of people visiting increases rapidly, and during this time the splendor of Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) also reaches its peak. The biggest good news of PTR this year is that now a total of 6 tigers are present here. Pictures of five of these tigers have been captured in camera traps, while the presence of a new tiger has been confirmed from the recently found kill and hair samples. At the same time, tigers are being continuously spotted.
Many tourists come on New Year
Prajesh Kant Jaina, deputy director of Palamu Tiger Reserve, told Local18 that many tourists had reached here during New Year last year. Who had seen many wild animals. This time, due to increase in numbers, the possibility of tourists coming is more. He told that PTR is an important part of Central India and Eastern Ghats corridor, due to which the activity and movement of tigers is increasing. The Forest Department is also continuously making efforts to improve the pre-population of tigers.
Betla National Park is the center of rare species
Betla National Park, which is the only open park in Jharkhand, provides an opportunity to see many rare wild species including tigers. However, only 0.1% of the park falls in the jungle safari area, so spotting a tiger is entirely dependent on luck. But the trees and plants, grasslands, insects, gaur, chital, elephants, butterflies and hundreds of bird species make it extremely rich. Therefore, tourists should enjoy not just the tiger but the entire bio-diverse forest during safari.
Trend guides will take tourists around
The Forest Department has provided more than 10 trained guides for the tourists, who have been given special training for two months. These guides provide tourists with detailed information related to the park’s features, animals and environment. Besides, preparations are also being made to install new sign boards in the park, so that the tourists themselves can know its specialties. Now women guides and women drivers are also being trained.
Tiger safari proposal ready
Meanwhile, a proposal to build a tiger safari outside the PTR area has also been prepared, which has received the approval of Palamu Tiger Foundation Committee and Jharkhand Wildlife Board. This safari proposed near Barwadih will make a big contribution to local tourism and employment. Being a zoo-safari model, there will be more chances of sighting of tigers in it, due to which the visiting tourists will be able to get an educational experience by staying here.
