Ghazipur: If you want to become a science teacher of class 11-12 in Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS) or Navodaya Vidyalaya (NVS), then the post of PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) is most important for this. PGT Physics teacher Sandeep Kumar Singh, who teaches in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ghazipur, said that the right strategy, grip on the subject and correct understanding of the syllabus takes you to the selection.
Eligibility Criteria
To become PGT Science, it is necessary to fulfill these conditions:
Post-Graduation in the subject (M.Sc/MA/M.Tech in the subject you are applying for)
Example:
Must have an MSc in Physics (or similar degree).
For PGT Chemistry, Masters in Chemistry is mandatory.
PGT Maths should be post graduation in Mathematics.
For PGT Biology, post-graduation in biology should be post-graduation in any of the following subjects: Zoology.
B.Ed Compulsory
CTET not required (CTET is not mandatory for PGT)

PGT recruitment usually takes place in three stages:
(A) Written Examination – Total 100 marks (2 hours)
tier 1
This part is qualifying (it does not count towards selection) and includes:
Reasoning
mathematical ability
Computer knowledge
Current Affairs / General Knowledge
Hindi-English language knowledge
There is also 1/3 negative marking in it.
Tier-2 (Subject Test – 100 Marks)
This is the most important part. The entire points connect here. In this, in-depth questions are asked from your specific subject (Physics/Chemistry/Maths/Biology).
Interview – 30 to 40 marks
After the written examination, there is an interview, where your subject understanding, teaching method and classroom handling ability is seen.
