Sugarcane Farming: Cutting technology is being counted among the most important crop increasing methods for sugarcane farmers. By cutting and transplanting at the right time, the yield of sugarcane increases, the plants remain strong and the income of the farmers also increases.
Gonda: Farmers adopt many methods for better production and stronger crop in sugarcane farming. One of the main methods is cutting of sugarcane plants. Experts say that cutting done at the right time improves the growth of sugarcane and also increases the yield. By cutting, new shoots grow from the sides of the plant, due to which the crop becomes dense and strong. Also, by cutting off the weak or infected parts, the risk of disease on the plant also reduces. After cutting, more new buds are formed in the plants, due to which the thickness and number of sugarcane increases.
Why should sugarcane be cut?
Regarding the benefits of cutting sugarcane, progressive farmer Lambardar Tiwari says that cutting is very important for those farmers who prepare sugarcane nurseries and transplant them. Cutting increases the growth of plants and produces more buds. Its biggest advantage is that the plant gets the right amount of nutrition from the manure, due to which the plants do not bend or fall and their strength remains. Besides, with increase in production the income of farmers also increases.
Know what experts say
Shivpal Singh, expert of Mankapur sugar mill, says that if farmers do not cut the sugarcane plant at the right time, then the plant’s need for food increases. By cutting, the nutritional requirement of plants is reduced and the possibility of their dying also decreases. Also, 10 to 12 sugarcanes are produced from a single sugarcane plant, which increases production and increases the income of farmers. Therefore, cutting is very important for those farmers who are sowing sugarcane through nursery method.
