Crime News: On November 21, 2025, at around 11:30 pm, a person of Indian origin was arrested from the Brampton area of Toronto, Canada. This person was absconding for 18 months. The arrest was based on tips received through the ‘Be Allo’ program, which seeks the public’s help in capturing fugitive criminals in Canada.
A 23-year-old young man of Indian origin has been in the news a lot in Canada for the last three days. This boy was arrested by the Canadian Police on 21 November. Indian-origin Nicholas Singh was arrested from the Brampton area of Toronto at around 11:30 pm on November 21. Nicholas Singh was arrested by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Unit of the Ontario State Police. Nicholas was absconding illegally since May 31, 2024. In Canada Nicholas was convicted of robbery, assault with a weapon and other crimes. He was left to serve his sentence of 5 years, 5 months and 10 days, but in the meantime he absconded. This arrest took place after he was included in the list of Canada’s Most Wanted fugitives. Does he also have links with Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi?
Nicholas is a resident of Toronto. Nicholas Singh’s arrest was based on tips received through the ‘B OLO’ program, which seeks the public’s help in capturing fugitive criminals in Canada. No direct or indirect connection of Nicholas Singh with Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been found. Toronto Police has said in its statement after the arrest of Nicholas Singh that when Nicholas Singh was arrested, illegal weapons were also recovered from him. Singh was sitting in a car. During the search, a loaded handgun, extended magazine, extra bullets and a pistol with an obliterated serial number were also recovered from his car. Whereas, in the earlier order of the court, he was prohibited from possessing weapons.
Most wanted man of Indian origin arrested in Canada
This became possible with the help of BOLO program i.e. Be On the Look Out in Canada. This is a Canadian public awareness campaign that releases information, photos and descriptions of the country’s 25 most wanted criminals on social media, news media and digital billboards to solicit tip-offs from the public. With the help of this program, many dangerous fugitives have been caught in the last few years.
How did Nicholas Singh abscond?
Nicholas Singh was already wanted in Canada for violating parole conditions. He has served time for violent crimes and was classified as a high-risk offender by Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement. For this reason his name was included in the top-25 list of BOLO. The arrest of Nicholas Singh is a big relief for the Canadian Police and he will now be produced again in the court, where he will have to face his old absconding case and new weapons related offences.
Overall, there is little possibility of interrogation in India regarding the notorious criminal of Indian origin Nicholas Singh arrested in Canada. Neither has his connection with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang been revealed nor has his involvement in the murder of any Indian been revealed. At the time of his arrest, Nicholas Singh was charged primarily with armed robbery and parole violation in Canada. In such a situation, there is little possibility that the Indian agency will take initiative to interrogate Nicholas Singh. His case mainly relates to Canadian jurisdiction.
