Other easy and organic methods can also be adopted to control pests. One method is to remove the pests by pouring a strong stream of clean water over the plant; Due to this the insects get swept away from the leaves and stems and fall down. Apart from this, solution of garlic and red chilli is also a very effective home remedy. To make this solution, grind garlic and red chilli, mix it in water and leave it overnight. Next day it is filtered and sprayed on the plant. This method is completely organic and it also helps in maintaining the health of the plant.
Gardening expert Ramesh Kumar told that while preparing a pot for the grape vine, first of all a big and deep pot should be chosen, so that the roots of the vine can spread well. It is very important to have drainage holes at the bottom of the pot, so that excess water can drain out. After this, fill the pot with fertile soil and add some organic fertilizer to it. Before sowing the seeds, soak them in water for a few hours, so that the outer layer of the seeds becomes soft and germination can occur quickly.
After preparing the pot, now plant the seeds in the soil at a depth of about 1 to 2 inches and cover them with soil lightly. After this, sprinkle a little water, so that the soil remains moist. Keep in mind that avoid giving too much water, as it can cause the seeds to rot. Within a few days, sprouts will start emerging and gradually the grape vine will start growing. Take regular care of the plant in the beginning, because this makes the plant stronger.
According to gardening experts, when the grape vine grows big, it is very important to prune it regularly. Pruning ensures good air circulation and reduces moisture, which reduces the risk of fungus and pests. If you see an infected leaf or stem, cut it off immediately and throw it away from the plant. Apart from this, keep removing dry leaves and weeds around the pot. Keep the pot in a place where it gets 6 to 7 hours of sunlight daily. With proper care, fruits start appearing in about 60 to 70 days.
