In this unit of the district hospital with modern facilities, arrangements have been made for two mother wards, staff room and complete CCTV surveillance. With this, security and monitoring has become stronger. Due to continuous follow-up and 24-hour health services, a large number of newborns are getting timely treatment.
Special attention to newborn babies in winter
During winter, newborn babies are at risk of many diseases, the most common of which are pneumonia. Due to these seasonal diseases, babies often have to be admitted to the hospital. Earlier, due to limited facilities, parents were forced to take their children to expensive private hospitals, which was financially challenging for many families. Due to the operation of this special unit, a large number of newborns are getting the benefit of timely treatment. With the opening of this important unit in the government hospital, not only the poor and middle class families have got financial relief, but it is also proving to be a very effective step towards reducing the neonatal mortality rate.
District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that earlier there was no such facility in the district hospital, due to which children did not have the facility of SNCU. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, this facility was started in the District Hospital of Dehradun. All the necessary resources required are available here. If needed, a dedicated vehicle has also been started here to take infants to Coronation Hospital.
