New Delhi. A big update has come regarding Bullet Train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on 15 November. During this time, he will visit the Bullet Train station under construction in Surat and review the progress of Mumbai-Ahmedabad National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL). The government is committed to running the bullet train on time. Because of this the work is going on fast. This entire project will pass through Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Maharashtra.
This corridor will connect major cities including Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi, Boisar, Virar, Thane and Mumbai, which will further improve India’s transport infrastructure. This project, built with engineering techniques as per international standards, has 465 km (about 85% of the route) viaduct i.e. elevated, which will make land acquisition less and more safe. So far, 326 km of viaduct work has been completed and 17 out of 25 river bridges have been constructed.
Once the project is ready, the Bullet Train will reduce the travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad by about two hours. The project is expected to boost trade, tourism and economic activities along the entire corridor, thereby boosting regional development.
A lot of work has been done on the approximately 47 km long Surat-Bilimora section. In which civil work and track-bed laying work has been completed. The design of Surat station is inspired by the city’s world famous diamond industry. Which reflects both beauty and functionality. The station has been designed with special attention to passenger amenities, including large waiting rooms, toilets and retail shops. It will also provide multi-modal connectivity with Surat Metro, city buses and the Indian Railways network.
