Unclaimed Money India: Money of lakhs of people is lying unclaimed across the country. Now an initiative is underway to send them to their rightful owner. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on social media that under Your Money, Your Right, Rs 2,000 thousand crore has so far been delivered to its rightful owners.
This initiative was started in October 2025. PM Modi said that, this opportunity is a chance to regain our forgotten wealth. He has appealed to the people to become a part of the Your Money, Your Right movement.
Information about unclaimed money will be available on these portals
The government has prepared different portals to recover unclaimed property. With the help of which you can easily get information about your forgotten money. Different portals have been created for different types of unclaimed amounts.
You can get information about unclaimed money lying in the bank from RBI’s UDGAM portal. At the same time, IRDAI’s Bima Bharosa portal has been prepared for unclaimed money related to insurance policies, SEBI’s MITRA portal has been prepared for unclaimed amount in mutual funds and Corporate Ministry’s IEPFA portal has been prepared for claiming dividends and unclaimed shares.
With the help of these portals, people can easily know where your money is stuck and can claim it. Talking about the figures, about Rs 78,000 crore is lying unclaimed in Indian banks. Apart from this, insurance companies also have unclaimed amount of about Rs 14,000 crore.
Facilitation camp organized
PM Modi said that, to make this movement successful, convenience camps have been set up in 477 districts. These convenience camps have been organized across the country in rural as well as urban areas. These camps have been specially set up in remote areas, so that it can be accessible to every citizen.
Also, more and more people should get benefit from it. The PM has appealed to the public that they should get information about their own or family’s unclaimed money or investments.
