During this carnival to be organized at Mallital Flats, colorful cultural programs, star night, food festival and local handicrafts exhibition will be organized. Along with local artists, famous Bollywood artists will also give their performances in the programs, which will give tourists an opportunity to know the hill culture closely along with entertainment.
Activities will be organized till March
According to the Tourism Department, activities related to adventure sports, water sports, paragliding and astronomy tourism will be organized in various areas of Nainital district till March. Programs like sailing in Nainital and trekking till Kainchi Dham will be special attractions for the tourists. At the same time, activities related to observation of stars and planets will be organized under Astro Tourism in Mukteshwar. The government’s focus is not limited to Nainital city only, but there are plans to firmly establish Bhimtal, Ramnagar, Mukteshwar and surrounding rural areas on the tourism map. Bird watching program will be organized in Ramnagar in the month of February, where bird lovers and photographers will reach in large numbers to see various species of indigenous and foreign birds.
Flower festival will be organized
Flower festival will be organized in Phalpatti area of Nainital in the month of March. In this festival, information about various fruits, flowers and plants including peach, plum, apple, pear will be given to the tourists. This event will not only promote tourism but will also prove beneficial for local farmers and gardeners. Under another important initiative of the state government, ‘House of Himalaya’ scheme will be taken forward in the homestay of Nainital. Through this, efforts will be made to market local products prepared by women’s self-help groups to tourists and the international market. This will strengthen the rural economy as well as give women the opportunity to become self-reliant.
Tourists will get huge discounts
ADM Nainital Vivek Rai said that in consultation with tourism businessmen, special discounts and attractive packages will be prepared in hotels and homestays, so that more and more tourists visit Nainital even in winter. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has a clear vision that tourism in Uttarakhand should continue throughout the year and the unique identity of every district should be brought to the fore. Overall, the Winter Carnival and the various tourism activities proposed till March are being considered a big step towards establishing Nainital as an all-season tourist destination.
