Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare has issued a circular. The Central Government has made it clear that whether it is an unmarried daughter, a widow or a divorcee, everyone will get family pension throughout their life. These rules have been decided under the Central Civil Services Pension Rules 2021.
Pension Rules: The government has recently implemented many changes related to family pension. On Wednesday itself, changes related to Life Pension Certificate were also implemented by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare. Under this, if both the parents want increased pension of 75 percent, then it has become necessary for both of them to submit life certificate every year. Now an order has come to follow the changes related to the rights of daughters on family pension properly.
According to the government, even if the daughter of a government employee gets married or gets divorced, her right to family pension remains intact. Earlier, if the daughter got married, the pension would stop but now the rules have changed.
Will divorced women get pension?
The Central Government has made it clear that whether it is an unmarried daughter, a widow or a divorcee, everyone will get family pension throughout their life. These rules have been decided under the Central Civil Services Pension Rules 2021. This change has been in effect since 2021 but is now being followed more strictly. The government has taken this step after several court judgments.
Married daughter is also entitled to family pension
Apart from this, disabled children also get pension throughout their life whether it is son or daughter. If the employee dies before retirement, the family pension is 50 percent of the employee’s last salary. If death occurs after retirement, 30 percent of the pension. But in case of daughters it continues throughout life. Now the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare has issued a circular making it clear that a married daughter is also entitled to family pension.
If daughter works, will she get pension?
Even if the daughter works, she will get pension. Apart from this, pension will be given to unmarried daughters. Widowed daughter-in-law also gets pension if she does not remarry. Government employees will have to keep in mind that they must include their daughter’s name in their nomination form. Many times the old form contains only the name of the son or wife and the daughter faces problems.
Before the implementation of this rule, many daughters faced difficulty in getting pension. Like after the death of the husband or after divorce. Now the government has empowered daughters. If there is a government pension in your house, then check the documents and get them updated in the bank so that the daughter gets her full rights.
