Patna News: Big news came out in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Here the EOU (Economic Offenses Unit) team raided the premises of a bank officer. 40 lakh cash has been found from his rice mill.
Patna: A vigorous action by EOU came to light in Patna, the capital of Bihar. On Friday, the team simultaneously raided six locations of Bhavesh Kumar Singh, Development Officer of Patliputra Central Co-operative Bank. This action was taken in the case of disproportionate assets on the basis of information received from sources. The bank officer has acquired illegal assets about 60.68% more than his declared income. On this basis, EOU registered Economic Offenses Police Station Case No. 43/2025 against him and obtained a search warrant from the court.
Today (December 12) morning, action was started at a total of 6 locations located in Patna, Gopalganj and Bihta. These include a rented flat in Ramjaypal Nagar, G+5 building in Agamkuan area, ancestral house in Jalalpur in Gopalganj, ‘Bhavna Petroleum’ petrol pump in Manjhagarh, ‘Jai Mata Di Rice Mill’ in Bihta and bank office on SP Verma Road.

During the raid, the team found about Rs 40 lakh in cash, a large amount of gold and silver jewellery, land documents, property related documents and many important papers. The list of seized material is growing as the team is still examining the documents. According to EOU officials, preliminary investigation shows that a large part of the property was allegedly purchased with illegal income. The biggest action was taken on petrol pump and rice mill, where both the institutions were seized on the basis of irregularities and suspicion of illegal investment. Files and records are also being seized from the officer’s bank office, on the basis of which further investigation will be conducted.

This raid of EOU has created a stir in the banking and cooperative institutions of the district. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the team is thoroughly investigating all the documents. The department says that after the completion of the search, a detailed report will be made public and every aspect related to corruption will be investigated.
