Belagavi. Karnataka Deputy CM and State Congress President DK Shivakumar on Tuesday clarified that there is no confusion in the party and he has no differences with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The Deputy CM claimed that there was no disagreement before, there is none now and there will not be in future also. This statement was given by Shivakumar when the media asked him whether the comments of CM Siddaramaiah’s son, MLC Yathindra, have once again created confusion in the ruling party.
Responding to Yatindra Siddaramaiah’s comments that the High Command has rejected Shivakumar’s bid to become the Chief Minister and Siddaramaiah will remain the Chief Minister for his entire tenure, the Deputy CM said that I did not understand what he had said. I will talk to him about this.
When he was asked when the party high command would call him to Delhi, Shivkumar replied that he did not know. He further said that I cannot tell such things as when the High Command will call me to Delhi. When asked about issuing notice to Yatindra for repeatedly making statements regarding the post of Chief Minister, Shivkumar said that he would talk on this matter later.
Earlier, Shivakumar, reacting to the comments of MLC Yatindra Siddaramaiah on the issue of CM post, said that he is very happy and wishes everything goes well. Let us tell you that Yatindra Siddaramaiah had said on Monday that CM Siddaramaiah will complete his entire tenure and the High Command has rejected DK Shivakumar’s claims for this post.
When asked about Yathindra’s comments, Shivakumar in Bengaluru before leaving for Belagavi on Tuesday had said that he is very happy. May everything be good, may it be good for the state. After arriving at Sambra Airport in Belagavi to attend the winter session of the state legislature, his supporters raised slogans in his support. During this, supporters raised slogans of ‘Shivkumar the next CM’.
Party sources said this development was a response to Yatindra’s statement in Belagavi on Monday, in which he had said that Siddaramaiah will complete his five-year tenure as Chief Minister. Meanwhile, Congress MLC Channaraj Hattiholi posted a message on social media, in which he welcomed the Deputy CM to Belagavi and called him ‘Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’, which attracted people’s attention. Channaraj is the brother of minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, who is close to Shivakumar.
Later MLC Channaraj said that it was a mistake of the social media handle and he has removed the post. His sister, minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, also reiterated that it was the social media handler’s mistake. He further said that I and my brother are disciplined soldiers of the party and we will not violate any order of the high command. When the high command has said that he will take the right decision, then we should wait till then.
