Chandni Raat: There are prevalent beliefs in the society about the activation of jinn and satanic forces on the moonlit night and full moon, due to which fear and confusion spread among the people. On this subject, Muslim religious leader and Shahi Chief Mufti of Uttar Pradesh Maulana Chaudhary Ifrahim Hussain clarified that there is no basis for such a belief in Islam. All these are mere rumours, whereas Islam shows the way to freedom from fear and mental peace.
Aligarh. It is a common belief in the society that spirits, jinn or evil forces become more powerful on moonlit nights or full moon nights. Due to such beliefs, fear and confusion arise among people and people start telling different types of stories and anecdotes. But the question arises whether the moonlight and full moon nights really encourage spirits and demonic forces?
To know the answer to this question, Local 18 team had a special conversation with Muslim religious leader Maulana Ifrahim Hussain. Giving information, Muslim religious leader and Royal Chief Mufti of Uttar Pradesh Maulana Chaudhary Ifrahim Hussain said that the existence of humans, jinn and devils is accepted in Islam. But it is wrong to believe that they are more active only at a particular time, like moonlit night or full moon night.
Jinn and Shaitan exist all the time, whether it is day or night, darkness or light. There is no such concept in Islam which proves that their activities increase only on moonlit nights. Maulana said that the fear spread regarding moonlit night is merely the result of rumors and misconceptions prevalent in the society. Because of these rumours, fear settles in the hearts of common people.
Whereas, Islam does not promote fear and confusion, but shows the way to get rid of them. In Islam, we are taught to take recourse to the verses and prayers of the Quran to protect ourselves from fear and mental restlessness. Especially reciting Surah Nas, Surah Falak, Ayatul Kursi, Surah Bakra, Surah Fatiha and Darood Sharif provides peace to the heart and removes confusion and fear.
Maulana said that from the Islamic point of view, the talk of increase in jinnat or satanic activities on moonlit nights is just a rumor, which has nothing to do with reality. Therefore, if ever something like this is seen or felt, then it is important to understand that this is all an illusion and not a truth.
