Lakhimpur Kheri Latest News: In Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, the Community Health Sub Center built at a cost of lakhs of rupees to provide better health care to the villagers is shedding tears over its plight due to which the local people have to face a lot of problems but the people responsible are not paying any attention to it. Become a major center of first aid for villagers
Lakhimpur Kheri: The community health sub-centre, built to provide better health facilities to the villagers in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, is itself waiting for treatment today. These centers built at a cost of lakhs of rupees have become victims of poor condition. The dilapidated buildings, broken roofs and the campus surrounded by bushes are testifying that there is no one to take care of them. The state and central governments have been making tall claims about strengthening health services, but the ground reality is telling a different story. Most of the community health sub-centres present in Lakhimpur Kheri district are in a dilapidated condition. Due to this, villagers have to wander even for primary treatment.
Sub health center has been suffering from poor condition for ten years
The Community Health Sub Center built in Gram Panchayat Fazal Nagar Grant of Bijua Block is a living example of this. The condition of this building, built about ten years ago at a cost of lakhs of rupees, has become like ruins today. The walls are cracked, the roof is falling and bushes have grown all around. When the News 18 Local team reached the spot to know the ground reality, the government’s claims were exposed. The building of the sub-health center was found to be completely dilapidated. The situation is such that leave alone treating patients, even sitting inside has become risky.
Villagers forced to go miles away for treatment
Due to the sub-health center being closed, villagers have to go to the community health center 10 to 12 kilometers away for treatment. In serious cases, it has become a compulsion to take patients to the district hospital 45 to 50 kilometers away. This increases the risk to time, money and life. Villager Santosh Kumar told that when the sub-health center was constructed in the village, people were hopeful that now treatment would be available in the village itself. Especially women and children will not have to go out. But today this building has become just a showpiece and has become completely dilapidated due to lack of maintenance.
There was no solution even after complaints
Imran of the village told that when the patients fall ill, they are forced to be taken away. The sub-health center has been converted into bushes. Complaints were made about this many times, but till now no concrete action has been taken. There is deep anger among the villagers regarding this. On this matter, Superintendent of Community Health Center Bijua, Subhash Verma said that the situation of the Sub Health Center is in his notice. Soon the process of construction of the new building will be started. The Chief Medical Officer has also been informed in this regard.
When will the picture of rural health change?
Now the question is when will the work start at the ground level after the assurance. The villagers hope that the sub-health center will reopen soon, so that they do not have to wander for primary care and health facilities can actually reach them.
