New Delhi. To provide relief from increasing pollution and traffic jams in the country’s capital, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced changes in the timings of government offices. This new system will be applicable from 15 November 2025 to 15 February 2026.
The government believes that by separating the timings of the offices of different departments, the number of vehicles on the road will reduce, which will reduce the pressure of traffic jams and smoke. Under the new system, Delhi government offices will now operate from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, while Municipal Corporation (MCD) offices will remain open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, meaning that now there will be a gap of about one and a half hour between the two shifts.
Traffic pressure expected to reduce
Officials say that after February, further policy will be decided after seeing its impact. This may also reduce the travel time of employees, as traffic pressure is expected to reduce.
