Agwani-sultanganj Bridge Update: Sultanganj-Aguwani bridge is being built since 2015 at a cost of Rs 1710 crore. This bridge has fallen three times so far. Earlier it was expected that it would be completed by 2026. But Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, who arrived on Saturday, has given a new deadline to the company. Now people will be able to avail the facility of the bridge till this year.

The super stretcher of this bridge had fallen due to the gust of wind. That too not once, during construction, different parts of this bridge got submerged in river Ganga thrice. The construction of which has still not started. Many times the deadline of this bridge has also expired.
Work started in 2015
Actually, let us tell you that the construction of Sultanganj-Aguwani fourlane bridge started in 2015, but it remains incomplete due to collapse three times. This bridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs 1710 crore. Many times people got hopeful but it has not materialized. Now once again people have hope that they will be able to travel through this bridge. According to the information, the construction work of this bridge was to start by the first week of June. But the problem had arisen due to rising water level, but now work on it has started rapidly. Actually, many changes have been made in the design of this super stretcher. Its design has been prepared by IIT Roorkee.
This bridge will be available by 2027
Now the work on the approach road has also been expedited from Aguani’s side. Work has also been started on the broken portion. It was being speculated that the construction work of this bridge would be completed by March 31, 2026. But Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, who arrived on Saturday, has directed the company to complete this bridge by the end of 2027. The work on Aguani side is almost done, but due to lack of work on Sultanganj side, there is some problem. People’s hopes have once again been dashed. Now we will be able to avail the facility of this bridge in 2027.
Let us tell you that the construction work of this bridge started in 2015 and it was to be finally completed by 2020. But the work remained incomplete due to the super stretcher falling three times. This bridge is being built at a cost of Rs 1710 crore. Its length is going to be 3.16 kilometers. Let us tell you that a dolphin observatory is being built on pier number 10 of the bridge. So that you can enjoy the antics of dolphins. This bridge will increase the connectivity of Khagaria and Bhagalpur. Not only this, it will also be easy for people from across the Ganga to go to Jharkhand.
