Hindustan Aeronautics Limited: A deal has been signed between ‘Maharatna’ company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and American company General Electric Company. This agreement between the two companies is for the supply and support package of 113 units of F404-GE-IN20 engine. These engines will be for 97 Tejas Mk1A aircraft, the order for which has recently been received by the company. The company said in its filing on November 7, an agreement was signed for the indigenous fighter Tejas aircraft LCA Mk 1A in September 2025. The supply of engines for this will be between 2027 and 2032.
Big order received from Defense Ministry
In the month of September, the Defense Ministry had given an order worth Rs 62370 crore to HAL. For this, Mk 1A aircraft will be purchased from the company for the Indian Air Force. Earlier in February 2021, the Defense Ministry had signed a deal worth Rs 48,000 crore for the purchase of 83 Tejas Mk 1A jet aircraft. This is the second contract signed with the company. HAL has a deal with GE to supply engines for 97 Tejas Mk1A aircraft. Officials said that under this deal, the supply of F404-GE-IN20 engines will start from 2027 and will have to be completed by 2032.
The share price of Hindustan Aeronautics has increased by 11.07 percent so far this year. HAL is going to announce its Q2FY26 results on November 12.
What is the specialty of Tejas?

For this, large scale investments are also being made in this sector. This order given to HAL for 97 Tejas Mk1A aircraft is also a step in this direction.
Tejas Mk1A is a state-of-the-art fighter jet of the Indian Air Force, whose radar system is very fast. So fast that it can detect targets from a range of 150-160 kilometers. Its payload capacity is up to 3500 kg. It runs at a speed of 2000 km per hour. It is a multi-role combat aircraft of 4.5 generation.
