Children aged 3 years, 12 and 16 years have died in this attack. These attacks are said to be related to the increasing illegal bars in South Africa.
Pretoria: A case of horrific massacre has come to light in a hostel located in Soulsville Township of Pretoria, the capital of South Africa. Three people entered the hostel premises with guns and played holi of blood. These people carried out indiscriminate firing targeting 25 people, in which 11 people lost their lives, one of those who died was a 3 year old innocent child. Most of those who were shot died on the spot but the remaining injured have been admitted to the hospital.
How many children were among those who died?
It is being told that around 4:30 am on Saturday morning, three people entered the hostel premises with guns and targeted a group of men who were drinking alcohol. Without saying anything, these killers opened fire indiscriminately. Giving information about this, spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said that 10 victims of the attack died on the spot, while one died in the hospital. According to the police, the dead include a three-year-old innocent child, a 12-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. Apart from this, 14 other people are undergoing treatment in the hospital but their condition remains critical.
‘Shebeen’ case
This incident, which happened about 18 kilometers away from Pretoria, has shaken the entire country. The gunmen have fled after carrying out the massacre and are being searched for. It is being told that this is actually a case of illegal liquor vends i.e. ‘shebeen’. Police spokesperson Mathe said that the main reason behind the increasing violence is illegal bars, these bars operate without any rules and often become centers of criminal activities, which are posing a major threat to law and order.
