A man has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old girl and the attempted murder of another woman.
Cameron Cheng, 18, of Newbridge, Co Caerphilly, was also charged with possession of a bladed article and will appear at Newport Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Police were called to a property on Wheatley Place, in Cefn Fforest, Co Caerphilly, at around 07:15 GMT on Thursday after reports that two people had been seriously injured.
Lainie Williams, 17, of Cefn Fforest, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 38-year-old woman, who was also injured, was released from the hospital.
Gwent Deputy Chief Constable Vicki Townsend said: “While we have made this significant progress in the investigation, our inquiries continue.”
The force is asking for witnesses.
