Bilaspur. Farmer Jadunandan Prasad Verma, living in Malhar Nagar Panchayat of Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, has achieved excellent results in green pea production through organic farming. Staying away from chemical fertilizers and pesticides, he adopted traditional knowledge and organic methods, which not only improved the health of the crops but also saw a clear improvement in the yield and quality. His farming is now becoming an inspiration for the nearby farmers. He further told that he had sown peas in the last week of October itself. He also described a desi identity for the farmers. He said, ‘When the coconut oil starts solidifying, then understand that the right time has come to sow peas.’ By sowing on time, plants grow well and peas are produced in large quantities.

He further said that along with the cultivation of peas, he has also sown fenugreek, due to which the amount of nitrogen in the soil is naturally replenished. This method not only maintains the health of the soil but also proves beneficial for the next crops.
