There was a time when there was no bank in Chapra. In such a situation, Mahendra Babu went ahead and established Bihar Bank. Which was later known as Sahebganj Bazaar Bank. Today this bank is serving the people as State Bank. For this also, Mahendra Babu and Dr. Rajendra Prasad had donated land.

At a time when child marriage was common. Mahendra Babu openly campaigned against it and made people aware. The path of social reform on which he took steps gave a new direction to many generations to come. This soil of Chhapra gave such gems.
