Bastar’s favorite
Local 18 team talked to Sagar Kashyap, a villager who grows red vegetables in his garden. Sagar Kashyap tells that I have planted red vegetables in two beds. I prepared the land by digging a little with a shovel. After this, I added cow dung manure to the land and sowed it. Germination occurs in two to three days and it is ready to eat in 20–25 days. I have not used chemical fertilizers in this vegetable.
There is less incidence of diseases in it, because cow dung manure is added. I have planted a seed worth Rs 30 and am preparing the crop through organic method, which is good for health. People living in cities can also grow red vegetables by adding cow dung manure in grow bags or pots. City dwellers can easily grow it in pots with soil and cow dung manure. Burmese compost can also be used instead of cow dung.
