Bihar-Jharkhand News Today LIVE: The much awaited ‘Rajgir Mahotsav’ is going to start grandly in the historical city of Rajgir of Bihar from today. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will formally inaugurate this festival at 4 pm, after which the valleys of Rajgir will be drenched in cultural colours. As the main attraction on the very first day of the inauguration, famous playback singer Kailash Kher will mesmerize the audience with his melodious voice and Sufi style. In this three-day long festival, tourists from India and abroad will come face to face with the rich heritage of Rajgir. Along with this, Gramashree Fair and Cuisine Fair have also been organized in the campus, which will showcase the local handicrafts and culture of Bihar.

Preparations intensified for Mahashivratri in Deoghar: Change in ‘Sheeghradarshanam’ fee and complete ban on VIP darshan
The district administration has started preparations for the Mahashivratri festival at the world famous Baba Vaidyanath Dham. In view of the huge crowd of devotees, the amount of ‘Sheeghradarshanam’ coupon has been increased to Rs 600 on this special occasion. To maintain smooth functioning during the festival, the administration has completely banned VIP and VVIP darshan. The District Magistrate has given strict instructions for uninterrupted power supply, cleanliness, pure drinking water and proper arrangement of electrical wires in the temple premises and surrounding areas. To deal with emergency situations, special arrangements will be made for the movement of small ambulances and fire fighting vehicles in the narrow streets, so that the devotees can have safe and easy darshan.

School timings will remain changed in Patna till this date
In view of the increasing outbreak of severe cold and dense fog in Bihar, the changes made in the school timings of the capital Patna will continue in future also. Patna District Magistrate Dr. Thyagarajan S.M. Has issued a new order for all government and private schools in the district. In view of the severity of the cold wave, the restrictions imposed on educational activities will remain in effect till December 25, 2025. Educational activities from class 1 to 12 will be banned in all schools of Patna district before 9:00 am and after 4:30 pm. Earlier this order was implemented from December 11 to December 18, but in view of the ‘red alert’ issued by the Meteorological Department and the falling temperature, it has been extended for one more week. However, the administration has clarified that this restriction is only for regular classes. The conduct of board examinations, special classes and pre-scheduled examinations has been kept free from this time limit, so that the academic preparation of the students is not affected.
