There is news of big digital relief for the customers of Samastipur postal division. The Postal Department has fully implemented the facility of payment through Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in all the head post offices, sub post offices and branch post offices of the district. Now there will be no need to carry cash for other services including Speed Post, Parcel Booking, Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance premium. Customers will be able to easily make payments through Google Pay, Phone Pay, BHIM or any UPI app.
This facility is available in Postal Department’s IT 2.0
Has been implemented under the Modernization Project. Under this, dynamic QR codes have been arranged in post offices, after scanning which the payment will be done immediately. This will not only make transactions faster, but will also get rid of long queues and problems associated with cash transactions. Especially in rural areas where post offices are the main centers of banking and postal services, this facility will prove to be very useful for the people.
What does the superintendent say?
Samastipur Postal Superintendent Robin Chandra said that maximum facilities should be provided to the customers, which is completely taken care of by us. He said that the change was started in a phased manner from August 2025, which has now been fully implemented. UPI payments will increase transparency and customers will also get facilities like real-time tracking and SMS updates. Separate counters have been arranged in the head post office for senior citizens, disabled people, women and agents. According to Postmaster Ramkant Rai, this will provide fast service to these sections on priority. Also, now booking of letters can be done in the Head Post Office from 7 am to 7 pm. This initiative of the Postal Department will promote digital payments in the district and strengthen financial inclusion.
