In this, 5,401 candidates will be called for interview. Interview dates will be released soon. The interview will be of 120 marks.
Regarding preparation for the interview, Local 18 talked to Patna’s famous BPSC mentor and Assistant Professor of Patna Science College, Dr. Akhilesh Kumar. He told that the candidates should not be nervous during the interview and it is very important to maintain eye contact with the board members while answering the questions asked. He also said that confidence, clear thinking and honest answers are the keys to success in interviews. Let us tell you that Dr. Akhilesh Kumar himself has also worked on the post of DSP. Guiding the students of BPSC for the last many years. In such a situation, his experience can prove to be very useful for the candidates.
Pay attention to academic background
He further said that the candidates who have just passed the Mains examination should now work seriously on their resume. Biodata means the academic background of the candidate. This means that candidates need to pay special attention to their optional papers and honors subjects. According to Dr. Akhilesh Kumar, even if the depth is not very much, there must be basic and clear knowledge of both the subjects. Because the interview often starts with questions related to these topics.
Apart from this, the number of questions related to current affairs is more in the interview. Questions can be asked on different dynamics of recent events like Bihar elections, issues related to SIR and national-international events like Russian President Putin’s visit to India. Therefore it is important to understand these topics in depth. Along with this, questions can also be asked on controversial issues, be it the law and order situation or matters related to liquor prohibition. All such topics should be approached well prepared and with facts in a balanced perspective.
Questions will also be asked from choice and hobby
Questions are also asked from the candidates’ choices. For example, if a candidate gives preference to becoming SDM or DSP, then basic questions are also asked regarding his choice. Like, what is the function of that post, why did you choose that post, what will be your role, such questions are common. Therefore, clear and logical answers to these questions should be prepared in advance. Along with this, there is a need to work seriously on hobbies also. The interview board often asks questions related to hobbies, so tell the same hobby to be truthful. If you tell fake or exaggerated hobbies, the board member may trap you in questions. From your answer it will be known that you have described a fake hobby.
Give neutral answers to issue based questions
When issue based questions are asked in an interview, they should be answered clearly, balanced and neutral. For example, if prohibition is questioned, then not only its benefits should be mentioned, but it is also important to mention the disadvantages and practical challenges associated with it. It can also be mentioned how liquor is still available at the grassroots level.
Never give a one-sided answer
That is, if a question is asked related to any government scheme, then along with its successes, its shortcomings should also be highlighted. Never give a one-sided answer. Apart from this, the interview board also wants to know what can be done for improvement in future. It is not necessary to just praise every plan, but presenting its flaws in an analytical manner also has a positive impact in the interview. There is absolutely no need to panic in such a situation when the answer to any question is not known during the interview. In such a situation, remain calm and composed, do not be nervous at all. Maintain confidence and face the next question by remaining cool and composed.
