In such a situation, there is absolutely no need to panic. Prevent disease before it occurs
Agricultural expert Ganga Ram Singh told Local 18 that after the pea crop becomes a plant, there is a possibility of many types of pests and diseases affecting it. Therefore, farmers have been advised not to wait for symptoms to appear, but to take timely prevention. Powdery mildew is a common disease in pea plants, whose timely control is very important.
These medicines are effective on powdery mildew
Agriculture experts said that spraying fungicides like Bavistin, Carbendazim or Saf is very effective in controlling powdery mildew. If symptoms of powdery mildew are seen, then the disease can be controlled by mixing 2.5 ml of any medicine in 1 liter of water and spraying it.
Choose the right medicine for pest control
Ganga Ram said that if leaf-cutting insects, aphids or other insects are seen in the plants, farmers can spray pesticides like chlorpyrifos or amidachloropid. By adopting their timely quantity and correct spraying technique, the crop can be saved from heavy losses and the yield also increases.
Seed treatment is the easiest indigenous way to prevent diseases.
Agricultural expert said that seed treatment is the most effective and cheapest solution in pea cultivation. Before sowing peas, treating the seeds with Dithane-45 or Thiram solution, drying them in shade and planting them reduces the risk of diseases later. He said that there is no special indigenous remedy, but seed treatment is the best technique to prevent diseases.
